Hajnal János
actor

About
I grew up in Nagylók, a small dead-end village. I originally wanted to become a footballer, but eventually I became an actor — although I had already been working professionally for fifteen years by the time I earned my degree.
I spent just one year as a company member at the Vörösmarty Theatre, back in 2011, and I have been working as a freelancer ever since. I spent three years in a daily television series, which is where most people know me from, but alongside that I have taken part in a great number of theatre productions.
When it comes to film, I owe my greatest professional recognition to Krzysztof Zanussi. I also have a one-man show entitled A fátylam kicsit oldalra billent, which fundamentally changed my relationship with the stage.
I consider Péter Telihay to be my most important mentor, but I have also had the opportunity to learn from outstanding artists such as Éva Tímár. I owe my sense of stage rhythm to Konrád Quintus, but the people who truly helped me find freedom as a performer were the members of the Trojka team. I joined the company in 2022.
At present, the Bartók Chamber Theatre is my professional base, and I also work as a motorcycle journalist.
